My Approach

How I Work

My work draws on a broad range of approaches - somatic work, parts work, inner child exploration, and more - depending on what you need and where you are. No two clients work the same way, and the therapy reflects that.

I work primarily with adults navigating the effects of childhood trauma and emotional neglect - people who are beginning to understand why they feel and behave the way they do, and who are ready to do something about it.

A lot of the patterns that bring people to therapy made complete sense at the time they formed. My job isn't to dismantle them - it's to help you understand them, and decide what you actually want to keep.

Somatic Work

Your body responds to experiences before your mind does. Somatic work pays attention to those physical responses - tension, shutdown, activation - and uses them as information.

Parts Work

Most of us have different parts that show up in different situations - the people pleaser, the inner critic, the one who shuts down. Parts work helps you understand where they came from and what they're trying to do.

Inner Child Exploration

A lot of adult patterns have their roots in childhood. This work goes back to where those patterns started - not to dwell there, but to understand them and begin to change them.

Faith In Practice

My Christian faith shapes who I am as a therapist and how I show up in the room.

Releasing Control

"Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you." - 1 Peter 5:7

So much suffering comes from holding tightly to what we can't control - other people, the past, outcomes. Learning to release that grip is some of the most powerful work we do.

Fruits of the Spirit

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

These are the qualities my faith calls me to bring into the room - and the very same qualities I hope to help you begin to cultivate in how you treat yourself and others.

Restoration

"I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten." - Joel 2:25

No matter how long you've carried something, change is possible. The work isn't about erasing the past - it's about reclaiming what it took from you.
